        CX-50 Overall Good CUV

        by 2025 Mazda CX50 Review on 1/4/2026 6:00:42 AM

I bought a Mazda CX-50 Select. I chose this trim because I did not want a sunroof or a power liftgate due to issues with other brands that had these (Expensive repairs). This vehicle handles better than many I have had over the last 40 years. I love the ground clearance, great AWD system, love having a non-turbo, non-hybrid, naturally aspirated engine with a great transmission that is non-CVT. I also love the analog gauges, buttons for heater/ac and well functioning infotainment center where I can turn some items on and off (no issues in close to a years time). I enjoy having a physical gear selector with manual shift mode...very nice! I am not a fan of the push button gear selectors that most manufacturers are going to, so thank you Mazda for that! There are many great factors about this vehicle but I wish Mazda would have allowed more options in all their packages. Only the least expensive (Select) model comes without a sunroof and power liftgate. It would have been nice to have lumbar seats with this package and a few other options only available in higher trims. The seats seem to be decent quality and may be fine for others but are narrow and give me issues in long distance travels. There are some features I do not like: 1) Electronic parking brake....this is annoying with an e-brake that automatically engages every time you shut off the vehicle. I want an e-brake that I can engage when I need it, not every time automatically. I did find an override for this but very annoying. I would rather have a manual e-brake. 2) I can appreciate the auto-headlight feature that many people like, but please give people the option, not an automatic headlight that cannot be turned off unless you are stopped. I say this because I cannot turn off the headlights while driving into my own or someone's driveway at night and shining lights into the windows, looking at Christmas lights where only need parking lights on while driving slow, also at checkpoints in places that I deal with that say no headlights. The manufacturer says there is no override for this. The light switch should have on/off, parking, headlights and auto headlight selection. Overall a nice vehicle that looks and handles great but also needs more options for turning things on and off as a person wishes. Hope this review helps for those who may be interested in the Mazda CX-50. Thank you!

        Wow!!! Amazing

by Ken Y Amoah on 12/4/2025 10:50:09 PM

The Mazda CX 50 is truly a most amazing vehicle. The vehicle collaborates with you when you drive it. In curves, it corners with ease and assurance as if to respond by asking "Did you expect this to be challenging?" The seats hug you just right and all controls are perfectly placed. In the Driver seat, you have an excellent view of all around you and oh by the way, if you happen to be running late to catch a flight and you seemingly ask for power and speed in case the roads are clear.....it will respond as if with a big smile as if to "What took you so long?....I thought you'd never ask". Thanks to all at Mazda for the privilege of such an amazing vehicle
