TOP DOWN, HEART RATE UP

The MX-5 Miata's iconic soft-top can be unlocked and dropped in one step and with one hand, right from the driver's seat. Should the weather or your preference change, the "assist spring" mechanism makes closing the top just as easy.

HERITAGE LIGHTS

In designing the latest-gen MX-5 Miata, we were careful to include subtle callbacks to past models. The taillights are a prime example. But to modernize the MX-5 Miata, we reduced their vertical height. The result is an even sleeker, more compact design.

EXPRESSIVE DETAILS

Fitting the headlights into the MX-5 Miata's aggressively shaped body with its short overhangs meant reinventing the headlight. The position of the LED low beam, the parabolic-type LED high beam and the turn signal layout produce more intensity and better visibility for better driving.

LIGHTER BY DESIGN

Wherever possible, the MX-5 Miata underwent painstaking weight loss. Even the window glass is lighter. The MX-5 Miata is nearly a half-inch lower in height and has undergone a weight loss of more than 148 pounds from the previous generation, bringing its curb weight down to 2,332 pounds for manual transmission models. You may not see it, but you'll feel it, as SKYACTIV® TECHNOLOGY1contributes to the MX-5 Miata's lightness and responsiveness. In and out of every corner.

YOU MAKE IT COMPLETE

The MX-5 Miata becomes nearly perfectly balanced when you are sitting in the driver's seat. Distributing the car's weight evenly between the front and rear helps to enhance directional control and cornering stability.
