I went to pretty much every Mazda dealership in the Bay Area to buy my  new car, and wound up coming back to the first place I went to and the first salesman who took me for a test drive in a Mazda3: Ali.

He was really no-nonsense, and when I pushed him to lower the price, it was obvious when he really couldn't go any further. And the lowest price was pretty much along the lines of the other dealerships, but without sliminess and hassle.

Some of the other Mazda shops really tried to pull the wool over my eyes, telling me how much the payments would be per month instead of giving me the bottom line... trying to "throw in" extra warranties... It was really refreshing to get a straightforward round figure for once.

I get my car serviced here, too. The service is always cheerful and fast, if not cheap. (Not at all cheap.) I've gone in for wiper blades and arms, and the service guys are always happy to help me install them and make sure it's working OK. On a Saturday afternoon! With no appointment!

Car dealerships are all a little sketchy. I feel like this one is honest and isn't trying to pull one over on you.

Extra notes: On the night I bought my car, I showed up right before the dealership closed. Ali stayed way past closing time to wrap up my sale, and we realized when we were saying goodbye that we'd kept him from bringing a cake to a family member's birthday party! He hadn't even rushed us or said he needed to leave.

Before we left, he directed us to where we could catch a late bite to eat nearby. This was before we lived in Burlingame... and probably helped give us a "warm, fuzzy feeling" about the town in general.

I think this was, by far, the most pain-free auto purchasing experience I've ever had.  My salesperson was Erlich, and he was so wonderful!  Equally awesome was the sales manager and staff!

He never pressured me into something I didn't want, he was patient as I looked, and was great about following up with me.  I drove off with a new CX7, and I totally love it!!

If you're in the market for a new Mazda, I highly recommend Erlich as the guy to see.  You won't be disappointed, or feel like you just went ten rounds with a championship heavyweight bullshitting salesperson.
